Maintenance Tech I - 12 Hour Night Shift

About the Job
The primary function of this role is under minimal supervision, performs expert level mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s manuals, diagrams, schematics and sketches.  Work with Maintenance Supervisor and shift lead on work assignments and priorities.  Document work completed and communicate work progress and completion with Maintenance supervision and Operational Team as required.

Essential Functions:
List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and housekeeping practices, company policies and procedures.
  • Work on Lean/5S activities related to the facility as needed.
  • Work with outside contractors on various plant projects and repairs
  • Inspect machinery determining root causes of malfunction while performing diagnostic checks. Remove, replace, or repair worn or defective parts safely returning equipment to operational status in minimum time required.
  • Work from complex diagrams, schematics, prints, work orders, and comply with specifications as required.
  • Maintain and repair various types of production equipment including, but not limited to, presses, furnaces, ovens, welding machines, conveyance, fans, motors, pumps, and inspection equipment. 
  • Work through PLC, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic machine concerns and properly repair items in a timely manner.
  • Use all tools and measuring instruments familiar to the trade.
  • Assist with equipment moves as needed ensuring all safety requirements are met before and during the move.
  • Work in various locations, including confined spaces, and at varied heights using fall protection, permits, and other safety processes and procedures as required including but not limited to lockout/tagout
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1- 2 years of maintenance experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without ongoing company sponsorship.

Preferred Criteria:
  • Awareness of the work impact to ISO 14001 regulations.
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
